Application and Admission Regulations

The application is handled online via uni-assist: https://my.uni-assist.de/

To apply, you will need to submit your undergraduate degree and a transcript of records. If you are missing credits from your undergraduate degree, you can still apply if you have successfully completed 144 CP. To do this, you will need a transcript of records with your preliminary final grade and your expected graduation date. Your university will usually provide this transcript automatically.

In addition, you must write a letter of motivation in which you convincingly explain your personal and professional interest in the program and its individual focus areas. You should also explain your goals for the program.

Please review the program's content and objectives as outlined on the introductory page and compare them to your interests and goals.

The questions to be answered and the formal requirements for the letter of motivation can be found in the document on the right. Please fill in the document, sign and upload it to the application portal.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in linguistics or a related field.

If your Bachelor is not finished until the application deadline, you can upload transcript of records, when it proves 144 aquired CP.

The selection of applicants is based 51% on the grade of the degree and 49% on the evaluation of the letter of motivation.

The application is handled online via uni-assist.

Applicants with a foreign degree have to send certified copies by post to uni-assist. If you are unable to send certified copies by post, you have to upload the certified documents. In case of a successful application, you will have to submit certified documents for the enrollment. Documents with a verification code are accepted as well and can just be uploaded.

Information about certified copies can be found here:
