Profile 

Dr. Suh-hee Choi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the College of Sciences, Kyung Hee University, where she teaches tourism and cultural geographies, the mobilities paradigm, and service-learning project-based courses. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geography at Seoul National University and earned her Ph.D. from Purdue University (USA) in 2011. Dr. Choi’s professional journey includes roles such as a former staff editor at the National Geographic Magazine Korean edition, a researcher at the Gyeonggi Research Institute, where she contributed to place branding projects in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, and a researcher at Seoul National University. She also served as an Invited Assistant Professor at the Institute for Tourism Studies in Macao, now known as the Macao University of Tourism. She is also a member of the Research Center for Small Businesses Ecosystem, a Convergence Research Center funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT of the South Korean Government, where she currently focuses on community-based tourism as well as small businesses and community actors in urban and rural areas. Dr. Choi has collaborated on service-based learning projects with Tour Dure businesses in various regions of Korea, including Goesan County, Boeun County, Eumseong County, Ansan City, and Sejong City.
